Self-Directed Projects
Here’s a collection of personal projects.
Analysis + Redesign: ‘Whole Life Challenge’
I started using Whole Life Challenge, a lifestyle app designed to help develop healthy habits (such as exercising, journaling, and eating right). While the game was motivating, I found the user experience could be improved. This was an interesting problem to tackle and a great way to teach myself Framer. My finished redesign exists in this Framer prototype.
Framer Experiments
I've worked at various early stage startups where animations and microinteractions are the least important priority. In many cases I'd agree that validating product-market fit is more important than a flashy transition.
While I was between jobs in 2017, I took the opportunity to learn Framer! Here I explored fixed position, images in a popover, and a good ol' fashion to-do list.
Plant Swap
I'm amazed by how easy it is to propagate plants. Pictured here is a Mother of Millions. Little plantlets sprout from the tip of a parent leaf and can form a new plant! With some essential ingredients: nutrients, light, and a lil' plantlet or seeds, you can grow something amazing.
Still a work in progress, but you can check out notes from a few whiteboarding sessions.
Parallax using Prinzhorn/skrollr
Back in 2011, I was big on learning front end development and building my own portfolio. For the home page I used Prinzhorn/skrollr parallax library to share some fun facts about myself.
